Assistant Director, Richard U. Light Fellowship

Manage all aspects of the Light Fellowship at Yale, including outreach, application, selection, pre-departure, support abroad, and reintegration. Communicate and collaborate with faculty and staff at Yale, language program partners abroad, and the board of trustees of the Light Foundation to ensure the Light Fellowship is accomplishing its mission to cultivate intercultural understanding and engagement among future leaders.

Asia Program Manager, Yale Young Global Scholars

Developed and managed the academic and residential components of the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) program, with special focus on the YYGS-Beijing session. Hired, trained, and empowered a team of instructors to develop curriculum that fostered student curiosity and critical thinking for exceptional high school students from around the world.

Greensboro Day School

Chinese Teacher and Program Director

Launched the K-12 Chinese language program, beginning in the middle and upper schools and expanding to the lower school in the second year. Taught Chinese at the middle and upper school level and acted as advisor of upper school students. Served as faculty adviser for the Chinese Club, member of the International Student Support Team, and group leader for the annual Junior Backpacking Trip.

Hangzhou, China

Oversaw all non-academic aspects of C.V. Starr Middlebury School in China: Hangzhou, an intensive Chinese language immersion program for university students. Maintained an annual operating budget of $100,000+ to develop excursions and activities to immerse students in Chinese culture and language, and provided support and guidance to program participants and staff.

Oversaw summer Critical Language Scholarship programs, a tuition-free intensive Chinese language immersion summer program for university students sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Acted as liaison between the program on the ground and headquarters in DC. Managed all program logistics and communication with the host university. Led weekly meetings with students to address culture shock and other adjustment issues, and worked daily with teachers to monitor students' academic progress.
